Need to do a shave test! Interesting test but my Cornerstone lasts for about 10 shaves before needing to be changed. If you have to change the Lidl razor every 4 shaves then there is no benefit. I actually keep delaying my subscription because the Cornerstone blades last that long, plus you get a colour personalized razor FOC when you join. Only occasionally do own brands beat the manufacturers quality because it`s not their interest to produce a better quality product for less money.

Great video. This is my go to razor. I love it. Whenever it comes to buying new blades and I see the price I try cheaper options, but never like them as much so I end up going back to them.

A few days ago I tried a cheap 2 blade razor from a Dutch pharmacy/chemist that they sell under their own brand. They cost a little under 5 euros and that is for a handle with 25 cartridges, Aldi also sells them over here under a different brand but with 20 cartridges. They’re made in Vietnam and look a lot like the original Sensor and they shave pretty damn well for me. I’ve come to the conclusion that everything with more than 2 blades is a no go and that cheap razors can be just as good as the expensive ones. I’ve no clue about the longevity of them because at that price I just won’t bother risking irritation.

Does anyone know what kind of blades this kind of razor takes?

Here in the Netherlands Aldi sells disposable 2 blade razors with pivoting head, they’re called Delta 2 by biocura. They cost €2 for a pack of ten, bought a whole box of them because I like them so much. Great for both head and face shaving(for me at least). For what they cost you should definitely try them out imo. Edit: What’s also good about them is that they don’t clog easily so they work well with even a week’s growth.

It must have been something wrong with your Nivea shaving gel can.... When i use mine its pretty firm gel that comes out of it... And it is definetly better than all the shaving soaps, creams, foams that i have tried....So smooth and slick...

How do you change the razor and how long can you use the razor for?

Been using headblade since 12 years agonstarting with the headblade sport. Currently using the moto. Also have the leaf 3 blade razor and the Leaf thorn. If I really want a quick close shave not worrying about possibly nicking myself my goto is still the Headblade!!! I really get quick BBS shaves with it!! Highly recommend!!!

Hello sir I'm from india. I'm 16 but still I have some beards which i don't like and my dermatologist suggested me shave my beards using gillete sensor excel. As you said this is a vintage and expensive razor so do i have options of modern razor with same or better quality to get baby smooth shave?

This same container of foam was recently updated with the new chartreuse plastic wrapper on the top. I tried for a half hour, with my finger nail and also with a pointed knife. I could not get the damn wrapper off. The previous design worked fine, but not this new one. It needs to be redesigned after they fire the stupid engineer that created this finger-cutting wrapper. Great expanding, silky smooth foam. But be careful trying to unwrap it.

that Wilkinson DE is crap its known to cut people to shreds. crap product even the shaving brush is crap. avoid yall

I picked this up on sale for $5 on a whim the other day despite being a standard barbasol guy for ages. Was surprised at how much better a shaving experience it was.

Great review! Since I recently found out about this, it's my go-to razor. Now I am considering getting the non-disposable skinguard cartridge razor. What do you think though? How do those disposable skinguard razors fare compared to the skinguard cartridge system? Is the extra cost of the replacement cartridges worth the upgrade or should I just stick with the disposable skinguard razors, which happen to be available everywhere here in Greece?

Good video, but let's be honest here. Your DE technique needs some work, the strokes are long with too much pressure, I was actually waiting in fear for the first nick. It goes to show the real difference between cartridge and DE shaving. Second, it's not an adjustable razor, so that was another scary moment. Third, the lather needed more water to keep it more slick IMO. But, having said all that, kudos for being honest and doing the video without editing. The main issue is taking more time and attention with a DE razor. Have fun and keep safe🪒🙂

Great to see another of your videos! Welcome back. You're doing well there (at DE shaving). I made the change from cartridge to DE blades back in 2021 (so fairly recently). I tried with that same razor + blades, and promptly cut my face to bits! I then put everything back in a drawer, then tried again (more slowly) after a few months. I now regularly shave with DE razor, blades etc. I still have a stock of cartridge blades, so every so often use them as well - also for traveling, holidays etc. So now, I use a mix of both - mostly carts during the week (for a quick shave) and DE blades at the weekend, when there is more time to indulge yourself. 😉
